I am hoping someone can help this init script newbie.

For my init script I would like to switch to a different user account for security reasons.  Using the start-stop-daemon I have used the "--chuid" option to switch users.

This works fine however I have found that the user account does not make use keychain for ssh connections.

Is this normal behaviour for the start-stop-daemon?

To work around this issue I have just created a seperate wrapper script "invoke_app" that manually calls keychain and then invokes the application.

All was working fine, until I reset the computer (Turnkey LAMP running in VMWare Server) and now it cannot get a lease from any DHCP server and setting a static IP does nothing.

There are 2 errors in startup that I am not sure whether were always there:

Host SMBus controller not enabled!

and

udhcpc[3560]: SIOCGIFINDEX failed!: No such device

The latter is more likely to be the problem, but it eludes me why it would start to produce error after a simple restart.

Can I change PHP to use something other than Postfix for email delivery?

Correct me if I am wrong, I thought that out of the box Drupal can use PHP mailing functions without having to piggyback from an MTA.

If that is possible, where can I change that?

I would like to know if it would be possible to migrate a Turnkey Drupal to a Drupal running on a regulr host. The reason I ask is because I dont think I will be able to convince my employer to load a virtual machine or a Turnkey Drupal I am using for development for a their production environment.

What would be the critical areas to pay attention to?

I am wondering if there has been an actual resolution for people like me that can't have the Drupal send any emails.

I can't find any posts about fixing this problems where Postfix wont send emails out on behalf of the Drupal Turnkey solution.

Here is what I have...

I think everything is good in the Drupal end and the problem is at the Postfix level.

I went to postfix logs and email queue and the emails that were supposed to go out, are still in the queue.

No matter what, the queue status says "No route to host".

I was recommended turnkey as a mean to try redmine. And it looks sooooo great. But I am not sure what I need to download. Can I later on change the redmine code to laterst trunk version?

What should I download from http://www.turnkeylinux.org/redmine if I want to try redmine in VirtualBox?

Hi Folks

Love the turnley stuff - I want to add another website to the turnkey Drupal6 appliance.

Created a Apache Virtual Server - all same info
   except modified document root
   port 8080
Restarted Apach2

Add new Linux Firewall Rule
   clone rule for port 80 and just changed it to port 8080

Change rights to the additional server document root
Also changed ownership to www-data to the folder & files..

Still won't let me access my new webiste - what am I doing wrong.

I downloaded the Deki Wiki Appliance and have it running on VMWare 7 on Windows XP Workstation to test. I am able to ping from the workstation the server and from the server I am able to ping other machines on the network, but when I try to SSH or web browse to the machine it fails.

I have tried recreating the network interface in VMWare and I have tried different IP's. When running netstat -a it says that www is running.

Any idea's as why I can't connect to the machine and con only ping?

There may be a memory leak in the Wordpress appliance. 

I downloaded the ISO and installed it to a VPS running on top of a host running CentOS 5.5 KVM.

After turning the site live, everything works fine for a while and then the console shows the kernel is killing processes because the system has run out of memory.  The VPS has 512 MB of RAM allocated to it.  From the webmin usage info, the usage stays at about 300MB for a long time after the appliance is turned on.

I just discovered Ubuntu, Virtualbox and Turnkey (amazing)  last week.

I installed virtualbox on my Vita, then Ubuntu, then created one new virtual machine >> install turnkey File Server. 

I followed the instructions of Alfonso Romero's book (excellent one). Everything is fine : got my File server installed but when i tried to access to the server using the IP adress of the  Turnkey Linux Configuration Console, it just doesn't work. It doesn't work either when I use https://fileserver.
