Upgrading to redmine 1.2

Forum:

Brand new to Turnkey, EC2 and Redmine, signed up for all of them to avoid using our sys admins to install redmine on our dedicated (non-cloud) server.  Love the idea of installing an appliance on the cloud, and Turnkey seems like a great solution.

BUT the first thing I see is that it's an older version of redmine.  Since I'm trying to avoid using our sysadmin resources to do this, can someone point me to specific instructions to do the upgrade (that is, "just do an apt-get update" isn't enough, someday I hope it will be).

Thanks!

How do I alter a file in a Turnkey Installation. (Resolved)

Forum:

I need to alter localsettings.php in my Mediawiki directory.  How do I download and then upload this file so I can alter it within the admin pages?

Thank you in advance.

I figured it out.

Resources for LAMP stack running small web server

Forum:

Before I set about intalling Turnkey LAMP stack, can someone just advice me whether this will run effectively on the hardware that I'm thinking of? This is a small solid state (fanless and diskless) PC with a Vortex86 200MHz processor, 128Mbyte RAM, 1Gbyte flash. If so, how much "disk" aspace will be left for my content? If not, what resources do I need to run this successfully?

I'm not expecting a lot of traffic to this web site - if the traffic proves to be a problem I will upgrade to a larger server - this is just a first step.

esxi vm w/ 128mb + turnkey core = black screen

Forum:

Hi,

When I'm trying to install a turnkey core with 128mb ram, the installer gets stuck after the linux boot but before the setup screen. Workaround: install with 256mb and later decrease it.

Thanks in advance for the help, everyone. I just installed the Wordpress appliance on a VirtualBox- I already have a Wordpress blog. How do I incorporate my existing Wordpress usernames/passwords into the admin dashboard? Is that even possible?

Reinstall vmware-tools on Joomla appliance

Forum:

After converting my Joomla appliance from VirtualBox to VMWare esxi 4.1, I noticed that vmware-tools was reported as "not installed" by my vSphere client. Here is what I've done thus far.

- Installed kernel headers and compiler using apt-get.

- unpacked vmware-tools from the tarball, ran install-vmware-tools.pl and chose the default options. It seemed to complete successfully. vSphere still shows "not installed" after rebooting and the vmware-user process was not running.

Getting Started with bare metal install

Forum:

I'm pretty much a total novice in running my own Linux server, although of course my ISP where I develop and host several web sites runs Linux and Apache. I now need to set up a small web server of my own and am looking for a way that minimises the learning curve. I found Turnkey which sounds as if it might be a good solution. I like the sound of "deploy in minutes"!

can't init tklbam

Forum:
I've subscribed the tkl hub account but when I try to issue the tklbam-init command I get the error: (7, "couldn't connect to host"). This happens in the initialization web form too. I'm behind a proxy that's been configured in both firefox (through Edit->Preferences->Configure how firefox connects to the internet) and Ubuntu (through export http_proxy). Fabio
