I have a Windows File Server joined to AD. Currently, users are storing data in this Fileserver.

I am planning to migrate Data from Windows to Ubuntu File Server.

I have installed Ubuntu 16.06 and joined to AD successfully and configured SMB.

My challenge is how to migrate data using to Ubuntu FileServer preserving timestamp, permissions and ownership.

Is there any way or script which does like creating block in smb.conf for share and execute necessary permissions on directory which is part of Migration

Installed the fileserver appliance in a container on a ProxMox virtual host. This is the error I am getting:

and I'm interested to know what versions of PHP/MYSQL/APACHE come installed by default. Any idea where that info can be found without installing it first?

tklbam-backup is giving sts-agent error after running for a couple of hours...

It's got through 571 volumes of 25Mb, so configuration is obviously ok.

Then it gives sts agent error, which is something to do with auth token handling.

Does the generated token for s3:// have a limited life span?  Anyone know how long that is?

What happens if a backup can't complete in that time?

Is there any way to get more detail on that the issue is?

So I'm still wrangling monster backups, trying to get this server to behave nicely, and get restorable backups.

I only know basic Linux commands, such as ls and cd, so I need pretty basic expaintion.  In addition, certificates are not my strong suite.

I have a wildcard certificate from GoDaddy.  I downloaded the .zip file after selecting Apache, and the .zip file contains two .crt files.  I understand that I need a .pem file and a .key file.  How do I get these?

I understand that the .pem and .key files need to be placed in /etc/ssl/private/new-cert.  Currently there is a.key file there, but no .pem file.  How do I copy files from my network to the server?

I am testing the Turnkey Samba Active Directory server now for a few days and having some problems with permissions on a 2012R2 Server with AD Domain Administrator accouts.

Usually it seems that I have admin permissions with this account. I see the dom admin user in "Local Users and Groups" group "Administrators". And I can administrer the pc.

I get this email every hour from cron.hourly

run-parts: /etc/cron.hourly/enable_secalerts exited with return code 22

Looking at the script, it runs curl.

Running curl myself, with the following command line

curl https://hub.turnkeylinux.org/api/server/secalerts/ -d email="wordpressadmin@retireeswa.com.au" -d turnkey_version="turnkey-wordpress-14.1-jessie-amd64 vm"

it returns

HubServer.SecAlertsError:Failure enabling security alerts: 255

I am completely clueless about turnkey and Linux.  Our admin setup a turnkey OTRS4 box and now she is gone.  We need it upgraded to 5.0.17 but have no idea how any of this works.  Im having trouble finding which files to download, how to use it.  Getting pretty desperate and need any help you can give.

I want to change the port of the OpenVPN server from the default 1194 to 5003.

The issue I am having is that when I change the value under /etc/openvpn/server.conf and restart the server, the Open VPN service stops working...

Is there any other parameter I need to change so thet the OpenVPN is listeing in 5003 instead of 1149?
