Was hoping to find a turnkey soloution for using developing a wordpress site using a local server and installed the Turnkey Wordpress appliance using the newest ISO to find that in order to install Themes or update Wordpress or its plugins I needed to a bit more than I was expecting and am currently capable of.
Reading around this sites forums it seems that it is necessary to install Proftpd and change a set of permissions (and possibly make a user ?)
New virtual machine - LAMP Stack (version 13), VMWare Player (6.0.1 build-1379776). Static IP (10.20.0.40), behind a firewall.
When trying to access Web Shell (10.20.0.40:12320) I see a black screen - no login prompt. I'm running a Joomla website (restored from an akeeba backup). Webmin (:12321) and PHPMyAdmin (:12322) work correctly.
I really have no idea where to start. Any suggestions for a novice?
The maps were not functioning at all. The developers got it to work by doing this:
apt-get install php5-curl
service apache2 restart
Turnkey guys might want to consider including this in the build. In the meantime, if you get stuck getting this plugin to work that is what you need to do.
Yesterday I installed the TurnKey SugarCRM distribution, which was almost a smooth ride. Thanks for that!
At the moment I'm trying to find a route to open an admin console or other user interface to enter the rest of the server, but can't find how to get there. The non Sugar distribution I looked at had a nice GUI to manage the server.
Is there a port that will open the back door to this server, I have tried to find one through a terminal connection but failed.
