Total TKL newb question

Forum:

I've got ESX experience, but am trying an ESXi 3.5 for the first time on an old Power Edge 2650, and am trying to install the Twiki appliance - I can copy the machine files to the server and add the .vmx file to inventory, but the appliance does not run.  ("The attempted operation cannot be performed in the current state (OFF)"  Is there a different way to install the appliance?  I tried the Virtual Appliance / Import feature but it failed with an error, and I can't seem to find any documentation on here about actually installing the appliance

Tomcat SF Download broken

Forum:

Both the Tomcat and Tomcat with Apache VM appliances fail to download from SourceForge.

The Tomcat appliance consistently fails at roughly 142MB, the other at 121MB. The resulting ZIP files are corrupt.

I've tried from different browsers and different machines.

I have no trouble downloading the Core VM appliance.

Is anyone else able to reproduce this?

Drupal Turnkey - Stuck at command prompt

Forum:
Attached:

Hi,

I'm pretty new to this.

I recently downloaded Turnkey Drupal and used VirtualBox to get it going.

It seems like it's up (as far as I can tell) and I'm just not sure how to get to the main Drupal intallation page from the prompt.

Also - I can't ping the ip in the Previous set-up screen from my host maching but can from the prompt.

What's next? Thanks!

Adding features (gitweb) from Revision Control to Redmine appliance

Forum:

I want to run Redmine and host multiple public Git repositories for a single project, but Redmine supports only one repo per project. I see the Revision Control appliance has Gitweb running, which would allow web-based browsing of multiple repositories.

TKLPatch Development

Forum:

Sorry for making a new post for this: where is the recent thread about TKLPatch documentation and tutorials? I have stuff to contribute. If I no one replies, no worries. I'll just add here.

Suggested modification to Turnkey Core (for installations) support for proxy servers

Forum:

Hi,

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction to modify the Turnkey - Core appliance installation to allow for the input of a proxy server.

In my test environment I have setup a number of servers based on the Turnkey - Core platform to test and develop ideas.  As part of this environment I have setup one of the boxes with apt-cacher and have configured each client to use it as the central hub for apt-get packages.

Is there an easy way to modify the install system to allow for the input of a proxy server?

Thanks,

Peter.

redmine appliance

Forum:

Hello

I'm new to turnkey and i just find it awesome, its great what you guys are doing.

Well, i have a redmine appliance and i'm trying to automate the svn - redmine repo creation and user association, thing is i'm looking for the user and password of the redmine database, i've found database name and user via mysql shell, and i know i can change the password, but if i do i will mess with redmine itself.

So where can i find the password (not encrypted), or what is the default?

Thank you.

Turnkey - different packages and how to choose/use

Forum:

Hello.

I am normally a windows user, and have played with linux only a little. I do code some, so am not completely at a loss for command line.

I have a fileserver that runs 2ksp4, without issue. I have a need now to put up another fileserver. I could do this with a windows product. However, I also want to install apache/mysql/php on this machine so that my web guy has an easier time working on the local copy before uploading it to the real webserver, which obviously runs apache/mysql/php.

Forum:

I have the zimbra appliance installed and running.  I can access the web frontend localy without any issues.  I can also send and recieve emails without any issues.  The problem is that I cannot access the frontend outside of my local network.  I have port 80 forward to the ip address that the console shows for web.  I know that I am doing somthing wrong herer I just don't know what.  I installed the LAMP appliance and forward port 80 to it and everything worked fine.

Hello to all, I hope that I am posting in the correct area, if not would an admin please place my post where it belongs. I am posting to this forum in hopes that I might get a small amount of assistance with the install of TurnKEy NAS on a Intel SS4200-EHW. The machine is normally a headless system. But for now I have a PCIE 1X to PCI adapter installed and have a pci video card installed. The issue that I having is this. Since I do not have a USB cdrom I am using my other computer to install the OS (via the live cd)on the hardrive and then transfer the harddrive to the Intel SS4200-EHW.
