TKL Appliances and XenServer 5.6: XenTools installation?

Forum:

Hi all,

I am (more or less) new to linux and find the turnkey appliances very usefull. As we are using XenServer 5.6 for app virtualization it would be perfect if I could install the XenServer tools into the appliances.

Is there a working installation doc out there? Did anybody succeed to install the tools? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx in advance

PCMCIA support

Forum:
Does anyone know how to, or has anyone already added PCMCIA support to an appliance?

I have been experimenting with loading 11.0rc CORE to a CF card in A PCMCIA (PC Card) adapter. I have been able to install it to a hard drive and add PCMCIA support that can see the CF card in the PC slot adapter. But I cannot seem to figure out how to get the LiveCD installer to see it directly.

Any direction would be greatly appreciated!

Redmine src Upgrade question

Forum:

I have been using redmine for a long while now... but only recently decided to switch to TKL and virtualisation. The problem I am having is that I seem unable to effectively upgrade the source for redmine. Does anyone have a pointer on how best to do this? maybe I missed the documentation somewhere??

Anyway - thanks for any and all help.... and have to add how much I love the TKL community

I've input my Hub API key and then run a simulated backup within the Webmin TKLBAM module after signing up for the Amazon S3 services, but I get the following result:

FengOffice Appliance

Forum:
I created an FengOffice Appliance (http://www.fengoffice.com) based on the Turnkey LAMP Appliance. Is it possible to make it accessible over the Turnkey Website? In case of interest just contact me. Best Regards! Alex.

How to salvage what appears to be a dead bugzilla AMI?

Forum:

I've had a bugzilla turnkey VM running for a long time ... but recently it stopped responding. EC2 says it running, so I logged into it and rebooted it (shutdown -r now) so I could look at a clean start ... big mistake. Now it starts up but with some very odd system log messages which I've dumped below. And I can't SSH into it any more, and EC2 wont let me "Stop" ... only Reboot and Terminate.

Any ideas?  (Yes, I know, I'm running a very old turnkey VM, but I need to recover the data from it!!)

TKLBAM initial backup time.

Greetings. I'm a satisfied user of TKL Lamp image. I have recently had to rebuild my web server because of my bad backup habits. I was thrilled to learn about TKLBAM and began an initial backup of 74.36gb to AWS S3. It's been almost 2 days now. The process is still running, but I'm concerned because I don't understand how to view it's progress if any.

Questions about functionality

Forum:

Hi, I've installed several of your appliances and have found them to be impressive. So much so, I am interested in using your solutions. However, I have a few questions which I am hoping you will be kind enough to answer.

1. Currently, I use a server that has webmin and lots of modules installed. Do you have postfix, dovecot, squid, dansguardian, and so on?

2. Can this be installed on your core platform?

3. Do you have a firewall?

4. I do not like Amazon cloud and was wondering if your backup solution can be used locally on server?
