Hello i used the turnkey lamp appliance. I set a root password i installed and configured some cms and all was running fantastic. Then i did an update installed an nfs server and now i got the error:

sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart
 * Stopping MySQL database server mysqld                                 [fail]
 * Starting MySQL database server mysqld                                 [ OK ]
/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'debian-sys-maint'@'localhost' (using password: YES)'

1st I love the LAMP nicely done.

Questions

1) I am installing this onto an Ebox2300 base  200Mhz Vortex86 with 1GB SSD 128MB Ram Installs fine runs great but ( I know always a but) I need USB support enabled I tried "lsusb" returns error command not found?

2) Trying to set this up as a wireless webserver/remote monitor for my farm. DO I need to compile a custom kernel for this machine or is there an easier way?

I've just installed the Joomla appliance (turnkey-joomla-2009.06-hardy-x86.iso, on a Vista machine) and started experiencing with Joomla.

I had a problem uploading images and other files from the local machine into the virtual box, but this was solved after browsing the support forums - I chowned /usr/share/joomla15 to www-data (with -R flag).

However, I'm now trying unsuccessfully to ftp to the new virtual box (using Core FTP LE client); I get the "Can't establish connection" error.

This will sound like a whinge but, it looks like the Turnkey Drupal 6.11 may have a serious cross site scripting error which was patched and updated by Drupal on 13th May but hasnt made it into the Turnkey iso or repositories.

Just wondered since XSS is so big a pain whether it could be included quickly to avoid proliferation?

 Just installed the drupal 6 appliance on my vps at vps.net and need some help getting out of the blocks.
 Accessing Webmin via http://myIP:1000/ resolves a page load error. What am I doing wrong?

First of all I am a newbie so please show some undestanding... :P

I downloaded and installed the Turnkey Wordpress Appliance.

All went well and I was able to build my site...

but now I want to publish it and upload it to a hosting service.

How am I going to do that????? How am I going to get the site I spent a week building out of there so that I can upload it later on?

PLEASE..... I know my question sounds dum to some of you, but as I said I am a newbie.... 

Hi, I've been working with the TKMW and loving it. It's truely easy to get going and setup. In minutes your making pages, adding users and so on. However, for my specific needs, I need to be able to create and manage multiple wikis. Luckily, this used to complex but is now covered by the extension Farmer.

I'm new to this arena and have some basic questions -sorry if way simple:

1. Site is up and running, although I am unable to create new directories in Media Manager (with super admin rights).

2. Ultimately, site uploads (such as images) are also failing.

3. Where do I create an FTP user account?  I used the super admin account and it fails to connect to port.

Any help is much appreciated!  Thanks!

(update: I previously did a test install on a Win08 server at home and didn't have a problem with apt-get as I am on a second install box with was setup by my hosting company. The second box has Win08 with 5 static IP addresses and no DHCP, so I'm thinking that this might be part of the problem. When I install, it often says "udhcpc No lease failing")

(update #2 - I think all I needed to do is run:

sudo apt-get update

I'm going to be installing a VPS Ubuntu 8.0.4 with VM on WinServer08 64-bit.

I'm wondering if this current LAMP appliance supports 64-bit, or if I'd have to start from scratch and install from the amd-64 (ubuntu-8.04.2-server-amd64.iso) to get 64-bit support.

Also, would there be much of a speed difference? I don't really have anthing to compare it to, but for the job, 32-bit would probably be just fine. But since I'm on a 64-bit OS, just wondered.
