I am testing the domain-controler appliance and it works fine with XP.
With seven Pro 64, I can connect to smb file share, but can't join the domain. It prompt me for the login and password, but after that I get a error message like "the domain doesn't exist or can't be contacted" (my message is in french). The ping is ok in both directions.
I also updated to samba4 (using apt-get), but doesn't change anything.
So trying out this software to see if it what it is what we need, but having installed it I cant log in to the webmin console, or any of the software for that matter, is there a password/account already set up as nothing i try will work.........
I am interested in testing the "File server" virtual appliance. I am trying to set it up using amazon, it keeps instead setting up the "TurnKey Backup and Migration " service.
I am a bit confused about virtual appliances and what "hub" is. Documentation/Help in these areas would be appreciated.
I downloaded phpBB TKL latest version appliance and uploaded the image onto my VMWare ESXi server. I then had to provide the IP address and that's it. I am able to bring up the webmin page and the others two - webshell and phpMyAdmin. However, I can't see how I can bring up the phpBB welcome pages and the phpBB administration panel page for forum administration.
Yet another accidental mistake. I deleted the original "panel.php" (which included links to PHPMyAdmin, Webmin, etc.) and made a new one. Trouble is, I forgot to note down the port numbers.
So, what port is PHPMyAdmin, Webmin, and the Web Shell running on?
I need to use my new small server (WP appliance) to host multiple websites, developed by multiple programmers. So I need multiple users, each user connecting to his own website only.
To test the right configuration, I've added a new user (e.g. 'wp_user') and added it to groups www-data and ssh. I've changed the user's home dirctory to /var/www/wordpress.
Results:
SSH connection from WinSCP was successfull, but the user can't delete files, since they are owned by the webserver. Doing chmod g+w on all files didn't help - still, the user can't delete his files.
I've been exploring the various TK appliances. While working with vTiger, I had to setup cron a job fro emails to be generated. I did so from webmin and all looks right. However, the cron did not seem to run. When I upgraded to the latest version of vTiger because I thought that the one in the TK appliance was too old and the newer version would probably work. After upgrading with a data migration, I experienced the same problem.
I have signed up for the TKL 20$ plan but I am very confused about it.
If I have one Amazon EC2 small server (which costs ~66$ per month if I run it all the month), do I have to pay extra 20$ for the TKL services or is it included in the 66$ price?
