File Server ISO will not boot

Forum:

I've had a Turnkey Linux file server for a number of years and never had an issue. But the hardware is now having issues and I decided to build a new server.

I have downloaded both the 15.0 and 14.2 "Installable Live CD" images and neither will boot. I have verified the CD drive by booting another Linux distro live cd that I had lying around. Works fine.

I used Brasero on Ubuntu 18.04 to burn the image to disk. Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Steve

Turnkey SuiteCRM 15.0 (SuiteCRM 7.8.20) - In Chrome, many times it is not saving changes when I click Save as both an Admin and a regular User. Sometimes the changes will save. Most times is not outputting any errors and acts like it has saved the changes I have made.  See error in FireFox Mozilla page when try to save that says "Bad data passed in. Return to Home"

I have been using Turnkey SuiteCRM for about 2 years. Has been working well.

Cannot find "RedirectMatch" code in mod_jk.conf

Forum:

The default root page of Tomcat on Apache is "TurnKey web control panel" located at /var/lib/tomcat8/webapps/cp (current tomcat version is 8).

Release note and wiki saying that /etc/tomcat8/mod_jk.conf redirects the root web page to the control panel with this code: RedirectMatch ^/$ /cp.

But I cannot find this code in mod_jk.conf (see attached screenshot). What tweaks are you using to make root page redirect to control panel? This information is important when I need do change root page.

Viewing Home Directories

Forum:

Hi all!

I am currently working in a small office environment. I have two groups I am utilizing staff and trainees to distinguish permissions.

The thing is, I want the staff group to be able to access the trainees home directories. Is there a way to do this in the GUI?

Every time I set permissions in the smb.conf file to show [homes] directories as browesable it just shows me one single share called homes and my user share instead of showing me all the user directories for [homes].

Next cloud lets encrypt

Forum:

Hi,

I would like to configure let's encrypt with confconsole (like http://wiki.laswitchtech.com/doku.php?id=documentations:linux:distributi...).

But when I launch confconsole, I see Advanced Menu but I can not select Advanced Menu :

- ENTER : command exit,
- ALT A : command exit,
- TAB : does nothing

Do you have an idea to use it on nextcloud applicance ?

PHP file updates not visible

Forum:
Tags:

Hi,

I deployed a default Lampstack 15.0 vmdk on my ESX server and start playing with it. For some reason I don't see my PHP file changes right away the most of the time. If I change some text, most of the time it takes a few minutes to be visible. It seems to be PHP related as HTML files changes are parsed right away.

Anyone experienced the same and/or have a fix?

Thanks,
Dennis

Getting started - LXC appliance based home network and Samba 4

Forum:

Hello, I'm brand new to TKL and could use some direction to reduce my fumbling and confusion. Please help if you can :)

I'm looking to setup a home network for about 8 machines -- mostly Windows 7 and 10 with a linux mint laptop -- and a linux server to bind them all and in light reveal them. (this would be the role I hope TKL fills.)

File Server - Template Structure

Forum:

Hi Folks,

Just wondering if it is possible to create a template folder structure for each users home share.

Effectively when I add a user, a template folder structure will automatically build itself.

Example:

-user1

       -folder1

            -folder2

-------------------------

-user2

       -folder1

            -folder2

Any help would be great, cheers!

AWS Migration Troubles

Forum:

Hey guys,

Having a hell of a time trying to get LAMP and OpenDC up into AWS. I provisioned the OVA's into vCenter with no issue, and even set up the initial configuration. When I try to migrate using the AWS SMS Connector, during the conversion phase, I get the error
