I'm a bit exhausted b this problem.

I've activated a new appliance on my proxmox server, the torrent server appliance.

It doesn't seem to start rtorrent.

in the webui:

No connection to rTorrent. Check if it is really running. Check $scgi_port and $scgi_host settings in config.php and scgi_port in rTorrent configuration file.

If I try to run the rtorrnt manually:

i 've rebuild my new openvz vps with debian-7-turnkey-gitlab_13.0-1_amd64 . But this version was builded about Oct 2013 (more than 2 years ago). I want to upgrade it to new version.

when i ask my hosting support, he said that 14.0-1 is not yet available for OpenVZ.

so i'll try to upgrade it myself.

but how to do that ?

i tried 'apt-get update' 'apt-get dist-upgrade' and 'apt-get upgrade' but my vps did not upgraded.

i want debian-8-turnkey-gitlab_14.0-1_amd64 installed to my vps.

I have just downloaded and imported into VirtualBox 4.3.22 on Win7 the latest WordPress turnkey - turnkey-wordpress-14.0-jessie-amd64.ova. I can connect to wp from the browser but I am not able to run

apt-get update
E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/https could not be found.

I searched the web but did not find any help.

 apt install apt-transport-https gives me error "unable to lacate package apt-transport-https"

any idea how to fix that?

The TKL Canvas VM is working great so far.  The one issue I have is not getting the document preview to work in Canvas via the canvadocs plugin by setting up the Box View API.  I can view jpgs fine which seems to be rendered w/o the Box View API, but pdfs and pptx files show the following error in Canvas.  I have my vm running currently with only an ip address and no domain yet.  I posted this issue over in the Canvas Github and not sure if folks in TKL could help.  Of note, I have tried the Bitnami Canvas VM and also buildtmy own, and all three show the same problem.

Stuck during setup.

Setup the MySQL database and insert the default schema:

./discovery.php -u

After I run this command, nothing happens.  So I tried 

php ./includes/update/update.php

... same results:

mysql> php ./includes/update/update.php

    -> 

I am stuck at this arrow prompt.

What do?  New to DBs.

The front-end section of a new Pligg install works great but the admin link leads to a placeholder page: http://metry.tklapp.com/

I have been running a mediawiki virtual machine for several years, largely without issue. Recently though it has started becomming non-responsive. By non-responsive I mean that:
