broken fstab - app server won't boot!

Forum:

Hi there,

I have a appserver turnkey appliance. I have added a line to the fstab (a smb mount point) that apparently was fat-fingered.  Now, it won't completely boot and I can't log in to it to edit the file!

Is there any way to stop it from reading the fstab file so I can log in and fix it?

I have attached a screen capture from the host:

thanks,

Jordan

Dumb question....

Forum:

I got your LAMP stack.  I know it does SFTP on port 22 - but what about plain old simple FTP on port 21?

I have a crm installation that will back up for me with a cron job - assuming I can tell it a valid FTP server.  (I want to host locally for this valuable data!)

Is that a separate app I need or can you get into plain FTP on the default LAMP install?

Thx.

Wordpress updates and ftp/ftps

Forum:

I've installed the TurnkeyLamp appliance in a virtual machine (VirtualBox) and then installed a fresh wordpress (using wget http://wordpress.org/latest.zip). This runs fine. I can log in from a windows machine using winscp (sftp client) and puTTy (console) as well as the Shell in a box, etc.

LAMP Appliance - PHP Command Line Not Found

Forum:
Obviously php works from calls through apache, since apache has been extended with php. However, we have php scripts designed to run as cron jobs, requiring command line execution. I did a server-wide find on php, php5, etc. with no luck locating it. I presume a simple install is required, but thought I would ask the forum for guidance before continuing with any apt-get's, yum's or whatever's... Caught me by surprise that a LAMP would not have command line php support out-of-the-box, and suggest this addition for future builds -- unless I am missing something... Thanks in advance for any help.

vTiger TurnKey Box - Getting Jorunal Commit I/O Error every day

Forum:

Hi -

Been using the vTiger turnkey box for about a month now.  I recently moved image to another computer that has more memory.  When I wake up in the morning - I am getting a journal commit i/o error and the entire file system is now in read only mode.

I'm a total linux noob and though I tried reading about this (I understand file system goes to read only to protect from corruption) I have no idea why it's happening, how to find out when it's happening, etc.

Issue with dynamic DNS in the hub

Forum:

Hi TKL folks,

I've recently discovered your tklapp.com dynamic DNS and decided to switch out my Elastic IP for talentware-trac.tklapp.com for one of my instances running through the Hub.

First issue was that when I released the Elastic IP, Amazon didn't assign me another public IP address. Solved this by rebooting the instance from SSH.

Then I installed the hubdns package, ran hubdns-init and hubdns-update, which returned successfully but did nothing (i.e., DNS didn't resolve).

Folder access control

Forum:

I am in the process of setting up a server running the file server and mediawiki appliances, for use in a small research laboratory.  I am somewhat familiar with users in linux, but am having trouble figuring out the best way to achieve the access control I desire.

The file server itself consists of the server (obviously) attached to rack-mounted external drives (essentially 4-drive units with hardware-RAID; appears as a single external dive when plugged into the server).  These drives are mounted in /media

Can't Log Into Wordpress Appliance

Forum:

Having a little trouble logging into my new Turnkey Wordpress appliance. Just the Wordpress page.

I can log in everywhere else, but this WP thing completely destroys the usefulness of the appliance.

I've changed the password in PHPMyAdmin, and rehashed it - no joy.

Halphalp!

Thanks.
