nameserver problem

Forum:

Notification: In order to use your new domain, you need to update your registrar's name servers....

I tried this and got a dialog box "Update your Registrar's NS Records" with the instructions:

"In order to use your new domain, you need to replace the name servers your domain registrat is currently using with the following:"

After which was a blank grayed out line.

My turnkey mediawiki is lettvin.tklapp.com and I want to offer it as lettvin.info.

Please help me fix this.

tklbam Doesn't Backup New Files

Forum:
Tags:

tklbam only backs up files for a base installation. If you install new packages/configurations they may not get backed up. For example I added odbc to an image and when I did a restore odbc wasn't there.

Is there a way to automaticlly have tklbam figure out that there are new files that need to be backed up after an installation.

At the very least, people need to know about this so they don't learn about the hard way.

CPU usage spikes to 100%; website down

Forum:
Attached:

Hey guys,

About an hour ago my website went down while I was working on it. It's a WordPress network enabled site. All of a sudden, it stopped loading.

I waited an hour and came back to find it still down now, and started looking around. I cannot get shell access, but I can see that the "CPU usage" chart spiked around the time the website stopped loading.

Any suggestions on what to do? Really bummed; I'm averaging like 300 visitors a day on this site. I would re-boot, but I've done a ton of work on the site today that I couldn't afford to lose. No recent backups.

Can the Turnkey Lamp Stack be used in a production environment?

Forum:

Or is it only for testing?

For example Xampp says that their stack is not secure enough for a production environment and should not be used as such. Is the case the same for this this stack or is it secure?

Can't access Webmin after restore

Forum:

TKL noobie here. Just did my first restore (Joomla 1.6) to a bare metal server. Worked well. Except... I can't access Webmin on the restored server. I can access PHPMyAdmin (https://192.168.0.168:12322) and the Webshell (https://192.168.0.168:12320), but no Webmin. It's not listening on port 12321. Any ideas how to resolve this?

Reserved Instance question (after cloning machine)

Forum:

We reserved a Small machine but after a few weeks decided it wasn't powerful enough, so today I cloned that server and re-created it as a Medium machine.  The Small machine is now powered off.

As I understand it, we will need to reserve the Medium machine since the new machine is of a different type than the one we previously reserved.  And unless I make use of that Small machine in some other way, the money we initially paid to reserve it would go down the drain.  Right?
