I'm using TKLDev 13 and have successfully made my first appliance (getting ready to do its first production deployment). However one last thing I want to look at is the kernel. Most of my deployments will be on VMware ESXi 5.x, however I am likely to have a couple on Hyper-V 2012 R2. I see TKLDev is installing kernel 3.2. I want to use a newer kernel for better Hyper-V support (at least 3.12 if possible).
I have inherited a very large php application that creates and caches files based on the contents of various config files. These cached files are being created with owner and group both set to 'root' and then apache, running as 'www-data', can't read the files for later use.
The web root directory is owned by 'root' and has group permissions for 'root', but the application directory is owned and has group permissions for 'www-data'.
currently I'm using the TurnKey-Server MediaWiki-App which runs very fluent and is every day and night in use for the documentation of our small projects. Today after a meeting our project-group had the idea to *add* the Moodle - Course Management System next to our MediaWiki-App to guide new group-members.
My idea is that both Apps (MediaWiki and Moodle) are running under TurnkeyLinux onto the same server - is this possible?
I downloaded the .iso for an i386 install thanks to a link from Jeremy (thanks for that) and managed to get it installed and running thanks to the great step-by-step guide from S. Ignacio (many thanks for that). But, the system did not activate (for lack of a better term) the second drive I had attached. Now I am trying to figure out how to get that second drive set up for storage.
So this is my first time using Turnkey and I wanted to start off with as much of a bare-bones install as possible so I'd have to install pretty much everything from the ground up. I installed the Turnkey core in a VM and everything is working fine so far but I'd like to continue now by installing Lamp Stack and just go on from there.
I'am a windows 7 user with medium understanding, turnkey lamp control panel has taken over as my default homepage in IE and I cannot change it. I have no clue how this happened and cannot find any info on the net on how to fix it.
