For whatever reason several packages seem to barf when I open a console. I have the java window open to see if there is any error message, but there seems to be none. But, when I launch a console I get a black screen with a "`" in the upper left corner. I'm running Promox as the base server and that works. So does Word Press. Canvas and OwnCloud don't. I've removed them both, deleted their tar files and re-downloade them, and re-installed to be sure. Same thing. turnkey-init command was run. Still the same failure.
Hi. I tried to add the russian locale to TurnKey LAMP Stack. I found some topics about adding locales on this forum, but none of those solutions work for me.
Eventually I did the following (this can be used as shell script, just copy and paste):
following with our tests of the virtual appliances, we would like to know if there is a way to pass as user data or metadata at boot time the default passwords for root, admin etc... from the Horizon console or Openstack API.
We have seen that the passwords are generated at boot time and printed in the log, but we would like to have more control of this passwords and 'inject' them more or less like cloud-init does in ubuntu images.
I'm really new to linux... I've been using the Magento stack for over a year now... making tweaks here and there in the magneto system. I've added more space to the machine by doing the LVM that was described on this website.
Everything ran fine for a year.... but now I notice that the HDD size is so huge (70GB) when I really don't have that much data.
Upon investigation, the /proc fonder is 60GB... the funny thing is... the /proc folder structure keeps repeating itself... /proc/1/cwd/proc/1/cwd/proc/1/cwd.....
On the HUB I've bought a reserved instance once for my medium instance server and found that it's only Medium Utilization Reserved Instance ($250, 3 years, $0.025/hour).
Checking Amazon's Reserved Instances there's Heavy Utilization ($300, 3 years, $0.020/hour).
Now that I've created a new medium instance server, my question is: How can I purchase the Heavy Utilization Reserved Instance via the HUB? It's a server running 24x7 so I'll save a lot if I can buy a Heavy Reserved one.
I tried to stop my instance from the webshell, it shuts down but my server dashboard / Turnkey hub shows that the instance is still running although it cannot be accessed anymore.
I also tried to stop it from webmin using cronjob. It shuts down but the server dashboard / Turnkey hub still shows that it is running although my instance is not accessible anymore. So I have to stop my instance from the dashboard.
I am working with a group that is trying to run a VM we provided that is based on TurnKey Core 12.0. The VM was running until they upgraded from VMware 4 to 5.1. Now the VM fails to boot and gives the error: "Unable to connect to the MKS: Error connecting to /bin/vmx process."
They also tried importing the the TK Core 12.0 VMDK image from the TurnKey website and got the same error.
Has anyone run into this problem before, and is there a known fix?
