How can I restore a pending cancellation of TurnKey apps from AWS?

Forum:
Tags:
I just updated my AWS portal billing method after my bank issued a replacement credit card (which required me to change many recurring payment accounts) but it now shows that my TurnKey apps are being cancelled today. Is there a way restore or NOT cancel them now that there's a valid payment method in place on Amazon? I love your service and would like to continue without a hitch, if possible. Thanks – Eric

LAMP & wordpress

Forum:

Hi guys,

I'm running a LAMP stack on Amazon in a micro instance. All files is installed and LAMP is running great. I'm trying to install Wordpress and I just can't get it to run.

I searched the forums and didn't find anything helpful. I installed the wordpress installation files in my home folder and when that didn't work I installed the Wordpress files on the Root directory in a directory called myname.tklapp.com. I set up my SQL server and a user, and set up DB permissions with all the correct read & write permissions.

Problem is I need to turn on networking in mahara but I am getting an error :

Is it possible to do this in my aws instance?

Thanks

Patch Patching?

Forum:

I have two questions relative to the content at the bottom of this page: http://www.turnkeylinux.org/docs/tklpatch/overview

The documentation for the tklpatch process on this page references "patch patching". By this, I'm guessing the authors mean to extend a previously created patch or perhaps create larger versions of a patch as it is developed further?

1. Can someone give me a use case for patching a patch? I'd like to understand why to do it.

MySQL Connect in Amazon Cloud

Forum:

I am running three TKL instances in the AWS Cloud using the TKL Hub to set them up.   One ios a DB server running MySQl with the preconfigured LAMP TKL instance.  I cannot get the others to connect to the MySQL DB.  I have tried the usual obvious things:

1) 127.0.0.1 localhost is commented out as is stop networking  (my.cnf file)

2) TKL firewall is configured to allow 3306 incoming and outgoing

3) I can connect locally using mysql command line so I know the DB is running  I can also use PHP MyAdmin locally.

Multiple Joomla and Wordpress sites on an internal development VM

Forum:

I am brand spanking new to Turnkey and did not do the install myself. Been pressing my IT dept for months to have a local test/build site for the company website, as well as several other sites. I finally got a VM with Turnkey Linux installed and have been left to my own devices. I am not a Developer, or a System Admin, I am just a Web Designer. I am used to working with cPanel to deploy sites on externally hosted servers.

Subdomains on Amazon Cloud LAMP?

Forum:

Hi everyone,

I've just successfully set up my first Amazon EC2 turnkey LAMP server after running my on VM LAMP for several years (thanks for the *great* product)!

On my own machine, I've successfully managed to make it reply to *.mydomain.dyndns.org using a dyndns.org account.

I'd like to do the same with the Amazon EC2 server. It's running perfectly as mydomain.tklapp.com, but I'm not sure where I need to setup the DNS to make it reply to *.mydomain.tklapp.com as well.
