First, my question, so not to bore you all with my feedback and real-world story of how I’ve used these.

I downloaded and installed the LAMP appliance to Virtualbox to test out a PHP app.  Everything works, except I can't log in to phpMyAdmin using the root password I set during the initial configuration.  Here are some changes that I made to the default configuration:

When accessing extlorer on the file server va, i enter my credentials for root and get an access decied.  I go in and change p/w for root on samba, get denied.  set p/w for samba user nobody, get denied or it hands w/ blank p/w.  Any insight how to make this work out of the box?

However, I see what seems to be a missed design concept. Let me explain ...

I see the world of "appliances", in the strictest sense, being very light weight devices. Likely small, passively cooled, with little or no expandability. And the primary storage device will likely be a flash style device. And in the world of flash devices, the re-writability is limited.

I have installed Lapp sucessfully and I'm on the first boot with Host-only as the addapter

I detected the IP address and netmask but won't progress past that window.

When I attempt to update turnkey I receive the following.

I'm setting up the VM and Lapp Appliance to run localy -- I tried selecting Host-Only Adapter but I get the error Invalid settings detected. and won't select it.
