Hi Guys, as stated befere here I'm running the lucid samba file server appliance. Each night I do standard Amazon remote back up , and a local backup onto another windows machine for safety ??
I am in the testing the restore phase now , so I started with the local back up because it would be faster. I installed a fresh baremetal install of the appliance on the same machiine in an identical way to the original.
To begin the restore I , exited the confconsole and logged into a shell as root on the machine, and initialised TKLBAM-INIt etc , all well
I want to set up my turnkey lamp appliance so that I can connect to mysql from another host using tools like mysql administrator, phprunner, etc. I have set up a user account for this, and set the 'hosts' to '%', but connection is still refused. I recall that allowing connections from other hosts is disabled as standard as a security precaution, but that doesn't worry me (this is a virtual test server on a private lan). Does anyone know how to enable access from another host?
In my TKLBam window in (WebMin) there is a radio button to "enable daily" backups but there is no way to "save" the setting.
Daily Backups were not installed as I need to set a Static IP up "after" full install, and TKLBam does not seem to take at install unless DHCP is set. (I do not have DHCP in my DMZ).
Also, noted in feedback the ability to make Notations before Manual Backups or Restores are applied. This would be quite helpful.
First of all, I would like to congratulate the team for the great TKLBAM tool, it really really makes things easier (or even possible) for us newbies.
I have a question, though, because I’m unable to fully backup/migrate a Joomla appliance using out-of-the-box TKLBAM. This is what I think it’s happening (correct me if I’m wrong, not a lot of experience with Joomla here):
When it comes to downloading large files such as the Turnkey VM or ISO image, I much prefer using wget for a couple of reasons:
1) Very often the computer on which I'm running the web browser is not the same as the one to which I want to download the file; very often that system is in an open ssh terminal on my desktop.
2) It has a very useful auto-restart feature in case of an interruption.
