Does the Django appliance allow for more than one Django website? Out of the box, it seems configured for one but I wanted to host more than one, potentially. Also, is the appliance ready for production out of the box?
I would like to install apache2 mod_imap module, but there is none available...I woul realy need this module because my project use dependeny on this mod. What can I do?
Great job on the Rails appliance. Worked flawlessly out of the chute on my ancient Thinkpad T23 (just a cheap development platform to learn Rails).
However, I am confused about something: there are some great development environments for Rails applications. I have been using Aptana's offering. However, I dont understand the process of working on an application remotely.
As of now I have been developing on my Thinkpad T400 and using the local webbrick server ( I think), to test things about.
First of all i would like to thank you, developers of turnkey - its smooth and flexible software ! I use it everyday not only for web development.
I'm building an appliance based on turnkey lamp for automatic video publication via podcast and bittorrent from local network to drupal6 site. Its intended for sharing source material (usually licensed on CC) among artists and journalists. Of course there might be other scenarios of that system (say piracy) but i intend it as a box installed in "free-culture" multimedia studios.
I have download both the LAMP and JOOMLA iso's and created VMware VMs on my MacBook Pro. I then manually installed VMware tools, and all is great on VMware Fusion. However, once I move the VM to Vmware ESXi, all seems to work with the exception of the configuration console. When teh VM boots, it comes just straight to root@lamp:/#
I'm trying to figure out how to get my appliance to register its hostname with the dns server (much like windows does). From what I've found online, it appears a standard Ubuntu install uses the dhcp-client3 package for its dhcp client and this has configurations that can be made via /etc/dhcp3/dhclient3.conf to send the hostname when requesting dhcp.
However, it seems that there is no /etc/dhcp3 folder on my appliance, so I can only assume that dhclient3 is not being used as the dhcp client. Is there another place to make this kind of configuration?
Normally I use WinXP and Wamp for Joomla, but tried the Turnkey joomla on a VM and love it. Quick, easy, and linux! I have found the configuration.php error and the solution for it on file.
I now have an issue with installing components in joomla, giving an error:
I am trying to setup LAMP stack on an old laptop. I tested the linksys wireless card in Xubuntu 8.04. While running the Xubuntu live CD I edited the interfaces file to match my wireless essid and wep key. Worked great.
I tried the same thing with Turnkey LAMP, but I get error wlan0 not found. It does not show up in ifconfig. It does show the adapter in lscpi.
