Downgrade cloud server?

Forum:

Hi all

I have launched a WordPress site using the great WordPress Turnkey Appliance but went for the medium option and it doesn't look like we need this size so what's the best way to downsize to small or even micro?

I can see there is a Restore this backup to a new cloud server option within the back up area of the hub but I need as close to 0 downtime as possible during this downtime

Thanks in advance!

How to upgrade mediawiki to 1.17?

Forum:
Tags:

What is the preferred way to upgrade mediawiki from 1.15 which appears to be the TK default (as in Debian's and Ubuntu's version) to a more recent version of mediawiki, which is currently at 1.17? The Debian and Ubuntu packages have not updated in some time. Ubuntu/Debian also put parts of mediawiki in a somewhat different place than if you tar xvf the mediawiki download into /var/www.

It would also be great if a mediawiki appliance could be released that has ver 1.17. There are some features that don't seem to work properly in the older 1.15 version.

Best,

LAMP Stack Appliance version 11.2 fails when installing package libmysqlclient-dev?

Forum:

I am trying to configure a VM server starting with the LAMP Stack appliance version 11.2. This is running on top of VirtualBox 4.1.2 on a Mac.

One of my needs is to install the package libmysqlclient-dev, so I run:

apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev

It seems that that package messes up with the Appliance's configuration, and once I reboot the machine it is unusable. The file system gets corrupted. One more restart and I am not able to mount the file system anymore.

TK TWIKI 11.2 ovf fails to import into Virtualbox

Forum:

Downloaded Twiki 11.2 ovf file and I am unable to import the virtual machine in to Virtual Box. At the same time, I successfully downloaded and imported the latest Turnkey versions of Statusnet and Tracks, so it does not seem to be a general virtualbox problem.

The error I get is:

p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; }

Failed to import appliance /home/mike/Downloads/turnkey-twiki-11.2-lucid-x86/turnkey-twiki-11.2-lucid-x86.ovf.

Restoring from a large (7GB+) backup fails

Forum:
Tags:

One of our servers has over 7GBs of backup data, mostly due to content (images, videos, etc) loaded into the content management system. When attempting to launch a new VM from a backup of this system with hub-launch, the restore seems to be running smoothly, but eventually stalls. After manually running the restore from the command-line, it was clear why the hub-launch was just stalling - the root '/' partition ran out of space.

EC2 is crawling slow!

Hey guys,

Not sure what's going on here, but I'm assuming it's an EC2 issue. Anywho, I've been working on a WordPress site install via TKL on EC2 micro instance. I've never seen anything load so fast other than like Google.

Everything was great until mid-afternoon yesterday. With no warning, the site just started crawling as I was building the theme and pages. It was excrutiating.
