I've just upgraded my Core appliance and am in the process of reinstalling servers etc. I'm noticing some strange behaviour with Proftpd which is new (don't remember it happening with the old appliance versions).
I am moving a server from a small to a micro instance by creating a new server from a TKLAM backup, but after migration none of the 4 websites hosted on the server can access their respective databases.
In fact after the move only the primary database had been moved at all.
I have ftp'd the other three databases but now have ownership issues as they are now root instead of being owned by mysql.
1. I downloaded the Turnkey OTRS appliance and have been running it via VirtualBox for a few weeks to learn the system. I have, as such, learned the system decently well.
2. I demo'd the software to my boss and we decided to go live with this build.
3. We launched the Amazon cloud version of the Turnkey OTRS build.
I have an unusual problem, I had TKL file server installed and working fine with no issues on SBS (small business server) 2011 Essentials Beta (through connect.microsoft.com) and just now got the final version from a retailer..So I had to reinstall the server, I setup the server in the same way as before, Same name, Same Domain, Same users, same everything, and the TKL file server was not being seen on the server.
I need to use WordPress in multi-site mode and, from reading the WP documentation, I see that it won't work in a sub-folder so I've moved it from the /var/www/wordpress folder to /var/www.
Since this wasn't straightforward, I thought I'd outline the steps (which I discovered through a lot of searching and trial and error):
1) Delete the index.html file in /var/www.
2) Move the files from the /wordpress folder into /var/www.
3) Edit the Apache virtual hosts for ports 80 and 443 to point to /var/www.
if I launch a turnkey image in Amazon, without using the Hub, is it possible to pass the desired root password to the instance at first boot using the EC2 tools?
I know you can use the HUB for this, and you can select the desired password there, but is it possible to do the same using the ec2 tools?
I downloaded the LAMP VM for VMWare, powered it up and went through the initial configuration giving the IP stack a static IP address.
I can ping the VM and get a response and when I hit the root web I get a 404 response from the web server. What steps can I take to resolve this? All the install videos and stuff get right in to the web interfaces so I was not able to pick up anything from those to resolve this.
I just recently downloaded and fired up the Turnkey Revision Control appliance and love it! However, I need to provide security such that ONLY authorized users can see the repositories, whether on the local network or coming from the internet. It seems that this should be a simple matter to resolve --- but I am missing it completely. I have had experience with UNIX systems, and have "played with" some Linux, but this is my first work with Apache.
