I have just installed the NAS version of turnkey on my laptop and it works great. I have to say that it is by far the most complete and easiest to use NAS server.
Anyways I want to be able to control it completely remotly, and I have succesfully trurned it on using WOL. However when I want to shut it down it's another story.
I have been unable to add any instances I have created in TurnKey Hub to an Amazon Elastic Load Balancer. When I have tried, I get the error "InvalidInstance: undefined" on the last screen of the ELB creation wizard.
Googling and searching Amazon's forums indicate this error is often caused by a mismatch in bit architecture between AMI and instance type. The error also happens when attempting to load balance instances that were launched using a paid AMI.
After installing LAMP into virtualbox on ubuntu 64 bit, and trying to start the file manager, using latest version of mozilla browser, i get a "failed to get language list : java.security.AccessControlException ..." error. Browsing the web, it was suggested to clear certificates, clear cache, but nothing helps. I even upgraded webmin to the latest version using the shell.
Interestingly, an own lamp installation on ubuntu 11.04 with webmin, the file manager works. So, i am not sure what the problem is.
Playing with Wordpress and trying to track down where the plugins I've downloaded are stored; have downloaded half a dozen and none are showing in the plugins folder, despite the fact they're working in the VM.
Not sure whether it's relevant (little prior experience with virtual machines), but running the VM on Ubuntu Natty.
First of all I love the Turnkey products. I am trying to use either the Wordpress Appliance or the LAMP Appliance to host my wordpress site. I have tried migrating my database manualy using instructions here and also BackupBuddy from here. I have not been able to get it to work successfully. I am actually migrating from Godaddy. Can anyone suggest the best method or better solution?
I have created smbusers no bother and connected a computer to my new turnkey domain, users can login no bother, and have also tested adding a smbuser to the local pc adminstrators group, which works too.
my problem is that I want to add the complete smbadmins group to my administrator group on the pc so that any users that are greated in the turnkey dc smbadmins group will get admin rights when they login to the pc.
I'm stuck on getting Cyrus SASL to work with subversion. I read the documentation and did the initial modifications to the svnserve.conf file and the svn.conf file in the /usr/lib/sasl2 directory. There is currently no sasldb in /etc/. The problem I am having is in figuring out how to make the sasldb -- I can't find the saslpasswd command (or the saslpasswd2 command.) Clearly SASL is installed so I don't want to start messing with a working OS before asking questions.
It seems that after a period of time I cannot connect to my SQL server running on Proxmox behind a router directly connected to the internet. This includes all Sockets, 21, 22, 3306, custom and whatever. Port forwarding is in place and works after I restart the servers networking.
I have searched through logs and cannot find anything suspicious. There is some weired messages that come up during restarting networking (below).
