Forum:

Hi,

Is there a version of Turnkey Linux for ARM based processors? Or does it have to be X86?

Thanks - Rowan

TKL rescue ?

Forum:

Ok,

This is what I get for working late at night.. but..

I enabled ufw and was dorking around.. Problem 1.

via ufw I allowed in port 80 (only) .. Problem 2.

By doing this I am completely locked out of the applicance. .. I "assume" can boot with a .iso and run single user and mount the /dev/sba and remove the ufw config file.. Thus gaining control again..

Can anyone confirm that this "should" work ?

(ufw - careful what you wish for....)

Thanks all.

vmware workstation vmhgfs mount / Shared Folders with host

Forum:

Does anyone have step by step instructions for setting up Shared Folders on vmware using Turnkey Linux LAMP? or TKL Core?

Here is what I tried, but without any luck:

1. In VMware went to Virtual Machine Settings -> Options -> Shared Folders
Checked off "Always enabled"
Created a share named hostshare pointing to C:\hostshare

2. Restarted the VM in VMware workstation

3. ran hgfsclient, and I see the name of the shared folder I just created

Networking issues with MySQL Appliance

Forum:

Hi all,

Having some strange issues with networking and cannot get any info from logs.

I might turn up the log level to see what happens but basically mysql appliance runs fine 90% of the time and then every now and then is unreachable through any port tested except 22 (Putty) and 5900 (VNC Console) (tested 80, 3306, 443). If I restart the network ie /etc/init.d/networking restart it all comes good!

My appliance is on proxmox and behind a firewall router but they do not seem to be an issue (as a simple reset of the network fixes the issue).

DNS and Drupal instance - access email

Forum:
Hi all, I'm fairly new to Drupal and especially new to TKL, but I'm having the best time so far, its just awesome!! A little history. - Created Drupal6 instance on TKL tied to my Amazon EC2 account. No problems there. - Created Amazon Route53 hostedzone, which gave me my DNS settings for my domain name. No problems there. - Repointed DNS via my domain name manager, few hours later, my domain name was pointing at my TKL Drupal instance.

Upgrading to redmine 1.2

Forum:

Brand new to Turnkey, EC2 and Redmine, signed up for all of them to avoid using our sys admins to install redmine on our dedicated (non-cloud) server.  Love the idea of installing an appliance on the cloud, and Turnkey seems like a great solution.

BUT the first thing I see is that it's an older version of redmine.  Since I'm trying to avoid using our sysadmin resources to do this, can someone point me to specific instructions to do the upgrade (that is, "just do an apt-get update" isn't enough, someday I hope it will be).

Thanks!

Tac

I need to alter localsettings.php in my Mediawiki directory.  How do I download and then upload this file so I can alter it within the admin pages?

Thank you in advance.

I figured it out.

Resources for LAMP stack running small web server

Forum:

Before I set about intalling Turnkey LAMP stack, can someone just advice me whether this will run effectively on the hardware that I'm thinking of? This is a small solid state (fanless and diskless) PC with a Vortex86 200MHz processor, 128Mbyte RAM, 1Gbyte flash. If so, how much "disk" aspace will be left for my content? If not, what resources do I need to run this successfully?

I'm not expecting a lot of traffic to this web site - if the traffic proves to be a problem I will upgrade to a larger server - this is just a first step.
