Where Bomgar, logmein, and Webex cost a fortune we need to create a remote administration console

Forum:
I have looked and looked for free open source solutions to the common problem of needing remote access software that clients can dl and it unistalls when it it done or one that has jump client that install on every computer in the network so that administrators can manage the network. Every single one cost thousands per user license. I think that it would be easy enough to develop our own live bootable OS that allows remote access into, WIN, MAC, Linux, and smartphones of all flavors that runs a LAMP stack for management.

Question re prefered packages for TKLPatch

Forum:

I've been playing with a few (well actually lots) of ideas for TKLPatches to contribute and I have a dev question.

Obviously if packages are available in the repos is the ideal situation. However if they are not, what is the hierarchy of preference beyond that? For example there seems to be a number of different approaches depending on the project: preconpiled .debs (or .rpms - which could be changed to .debs with alien), binary tarballs (usually with install script), source tarball or other source such as svn or git.

My Dream Turnkey System, Suggestion or idea whatever you want to call it. :)

Forum:

I did a quick skim of the forums and didn't see anything quite like what I would love to see in terms of Turnkey so I am posting this.  Please excuse any potential duplicate posting. ;)

Nagios appliance

Forum:
Hello, We just downloaded the LAMP applaince and we love it! Thank you for whoever put it for download. I tried to build a FreeBSD 8.0 Nagios server but for the life of me, I couldn't make it work. I was wondering is someone on this community could please create a Nagios applaince with Lilac and Cacti all configured and ready to use or point me to where I can download one such applaince? Thank you,

Updated Redmine appliance - Where do I get existing tklpatch?

Forum:

Hi All

I want to create a Redmine appliance with the latest stable release 0.9.5 plus subversion 1.5.x.  and a few other apps.

I've not created a Turnkey CD before but yet but this seems like a good place to start.

I've had a look at :

http://wiki.turnkeylinux.org/Whiteboard/Redmine_%22Virtual_Appliance%22_...

And I gather that the next step is having a look at creating a TklPatch

Forum:

So, in the world of education, students with special needs (gifted, having learning differences, etc) are legally required to have things called Individual Education Plans in the US. Plenty of companies serve web solutions to manage IEPs for some insane amount. Long story shorter:

Turnkey VirtualBox OSE Desktop Appliance

Forum:

I have decided that I would like to create a TurnKey appliance that provides the minimal host OS to run VirtualBox VMs "locally". Like a LiveCD that allows running Vbox VMs without moding the underlying physical box. This should also be installable to bare metal when that is an option.

Why VirtualBox? Because my use case requires running Windows games that require DirectX 3D acceleration and no licensing fee for the Host platform.
