Hi everyone, I'd like to post here some ideas for the TKLs and the community. So this will be the first of various post. First some suggestions for the website:
- A link in the front page to the forums. I know there's a widget there but I really miss a button in the primary nav. (left to Blog link)
- Are you guys going to relaunch the theme with a bit of purple and less brown? ;)
I have two related questions and apologize in advance if they have already been covered in previous posts.
First, the amount content that has been created in the form of TKLPatches as a result of the contest is just amazing. Does TKL plan to spin all these into appliances, publish just the TKLPatches in the repository, or do some combination of both?
Hi everyone. LDAP for me is like DNS, one of those complex topics I prefer to be far away. Anyway, I do cross with ldap servers on my job, so I think this TKLPatch will be usefull. On to details:
Marc reported an issue when trying to install TKLPatch from the TurnKey package archive. We tracked the issue down to a package conflict between the hardy and lucid sections of the archive, and manually fixed the conflict.
Conflicts like this were bound to happen again, so we restructured the archive a little and deployed the new structure a few minutes ago.
I am currently working on a prototype TKL Lucid Client Core TKLPatch and am seeking the preferred way to disable confconsole from autostarting (so it doesn't interfere with the GUI at boot).
For now I'm using
update-rc.d confconsole disable
to disable it and
update-rc.d confconsole enable
to re-enable it. It all works no problem. Well, actually for interest sake it does complain that
