As more and more users are posting here in the forums it may be time to break out into categories by appliance. Though I realize a lot of the appliances overlap in functionality. Which means answers may be duplicated.
Just found this website yesterday, and I have to admit, I'm very impressed. I've been playing around with SQL Server Express for a few days (in my spare time) and found it frustrating. I downloaded and copied the Turnkey MySQL to my server and in 15 minutes, the server was up and I'd already copied my databases to it. Very slick. Thanks so much.
Column-oriented databases have become a hot topic in the Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing arena (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Column-oriented_DBMS ), and there might be some real interest if there were a Turnkey Column-oriented DBMS appliance.
Do you have any plans for a strictly document management turnkey solution in the near future? I have an associate in India who has a client who needs this.
Are the images, that are available for download, built up from Turnkey Linux Core with TKLPatch?
If so, are those Patches available for us to base new Patches off of? For instance: I would love to combine the Tomcat appliance with Stas Grishin's OpenVPN patch in a single appliance. But to really make it work correctly, it seems that I would need to modify some of the base configurations of the Tomcat image....
