Having recently migrated a site from a Windows platform to a Linux platform I found it necessary to throw some notes together to use the next time the need to do such a thing arises. Since it's existing, might as well share it with others. Linux Mint 17 distro was used along with Drupal 7 and, please bear in mind, that it's basically the work of a newb meant for newbs:
I'm having an issue with my PHP form not sending an email when the form is submitted on a brand new site on a brand new linode. My programming/coding skills are very limited so sorry for my ignorance.
I had someone on odesk create a website for me with a PHP form on it.
Before he sent me the files we tested the form while he was hosting the page and it worked great.
Now I tried to put it onto my Linode but the php form no longer works. to build the linode I just followed the tutorial on the linode website..
Didn't see this anywhere so just going to ask. We have installed a core and added things like ftp, nfs, etc. and when we do a restore, they don't seem to get restored. Is there a procedure to make this happen?
so far i had the Ireland region, but now since Frankfurt is available and i am located in Frankfurt, it makes sense to have my backups sent to Frankfurt.
How can i change the region where the backups are created?
Ok, we run a growing auto parts shopping cart. Our server runs slow and is always crashing so we asked our web host to assist us. They sent us these report but I need some advice in how to process it.
Our plan right now is to take the MySQL database and host it on AWS, but I need to know how to gauge what size instance we need and what service would work best.
I'm trying to build a simple ubuntu install without xorg. I don't want a netinstall but rather to move the squashed filesystem to disk after d-i sets up. The "live install" for ubuntu requires x. So neither install methods are working for me.
After 3 weeks of research and failed builds, I found the di-live script, and it appears to be exactly what I'm needing. In a different forum I found the creator of di-live suggested future questions be asked here. So here I am!
I'm in a bit of a bind we lost a very old machine that was running Media Wiki version 11.3. I was fortunately able to recover the database and most of the files however I cannot find an old download mirror that's still active for version 11.3 at all. Can someone please attach the .iso or .vmdk to this thread?
