mediawiki copy and synch to laptops

Forum:
Tags:

We have a TKL linux mediawiki server on a mixed windows/Linux LAN.

The wiki on the mediawiki server is so useful that we want portable versions of it for staff in the field, running on Windows laptops. Laptop Internet access to the LAN server is not an option as this stage. Each laptop wiki "copy" needs to be edited in the field, and on return to base, any changes incorporated into the LAN server.

Essentially mobile computing style operation !

Restrict SFTP User to own home directory

Forum:

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the TKL File Server appliance.  My plans are to use it solely as an FTP server.  I have created a user named abc (for example).  I am successfully able to log into the server from Filezilla for example and directly into the abc user home directory without issue.  My question is, how can I prevent the abc user from navigating the tree above his home directory (ex. /, /home, etc.)?  I have been researching this for a couple of days, and so far, nothing that I have tried has helped.

Getting things done app

Forum:

Howdy all,

I checked out TKL a few months ago and liked what I saw but wasn't ready to move forwars.  Getting a little closer and wanted to try an app that was specifically written to work in the "Getting things Done" model.  I can't find it though and was wonderin if someone could point me to it.

Thanks,

Change port number for mediawiki

Forum:

I've set up the mediawiki appliance and it works over the default port 80. However, if I change the port of the virtual server to something else (e.g. 8080), the browser gets no response.

Have I missed something? Do I need to change anything else?

Thanks,

Julian

Upgrading zimbra appliance on EC2

Forum:

I successfully installed and setup the zimbra appliance at Amazon AWS on the small instance through the turnkey hub.  Once tested, I tried to update from the base install of V5 to V6 so that I could add the ZeXtras sync client.  I downloaded and unpacked the appropriate file.  First, it asked me to change the /etc/hosts information to reflect my external ip, FQDN and a hostname.  So I did that.  This brings me to my first question:  It specified FQDN, so I put in mail.mydomain.com with the elastic IP and a new hostname.  Was that the right thing to do?

OTRS Update

Forum:
Tags:

Hello all,

This is my first post. Started playing with TurnkeyLinux today. I had to install an OTRS solution for the company I work for and I installed a Windows virtual machine. I want to keep TKL as an alternative if not even replace the Windows machine since it uses more RAM than TKL.

But the image here has the version 2.4.7 of OTRS.

How can I update? I would like to run the latest version. 3.1.6 that is.

My WP programmer says she posted the new site and within a few days the site reverted to the old site.  She no longer sees her files she uploaded using sftp.  The site is now back to the old pages.

What can cause this?
