Turnkey OpenVPN - How to temporarily block client?

Forum:
Tags:

How can I easily temporarily block a client from connecting to the Turnkey OpenVPN appliance?

The client has a unique key and .ovpn file created with the openvpn-addclient helper program. I tried removing their files from /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys and restarting the openvpn service but the client still connects.

I want to do this in a way I can reverse from the server without needing to touch the client. So I'm guessing revoking their certificate/key and creating a new one is out because I'd need to distribute the new .ovpn file.

TKL Ghost not sending emails, Perl segfault

Forum:

Now here's another foot-self-shoot:

Adding users to Ghost means inviting them. By email and by email only. In order to compensate for this bad design decision, the infrastructure below Ghost should actually allow you to send emails. It seems the Ghost (debian-10-turnkey-ghost_16.0-1_amd64.tar.gz) TKL doesn't.

Postfix runs, but no email is sent (or ever arrives). Trying to catch a culprit I stumbled across these log messages in the container:

Turnkey Linux v16 Wordpress Default theme

Forum:
Tags:

I installed turnkey Linux 16 and changed my theme.  WordPress instructed me to get rid of unused themes and I deleted the original one installed in this build.  While everything works, I get a message that I have NO default theme.  I would like to re-install the original theme, but don't know what it was.  What is the theme in your default build?  Twenty Thirteen?  Twenty Twenty?  Other?

Thanks!

errors trying to update turnkey linux installation

Forum:

Greetings!  I was attempting to update our turnkey linux installation, however having some errors while attempting to do so.  Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.  I have limited linux experience, please excuse my ignorance!

See attached log file from my attempts. I tried to published documentation method and the standard sudo apt-get update/upgrade. Also it doesn't work with sudo in front of anything.  (see snipit below here)

QEMU/KVM technicolor crash on ISO boot

Forum:

Hi there, I've tried to boot two ISO images (LAMP and TKLdev, both 16.0) in QEMU/KVM on Linux Mint 20 and both of them technicolor crash while booting the installer.

This is Linux Mint 20 running on kernel 5.4.0 on a Thinkpad T480, it's a late-model CPU.

Package qemu-kvm is version 1:4.2-3ubuntu6.7 (amd64).

This problem is 100% reproducible and makes TKL unusable w/KVM for me on this platform. Is this a known thing or does anyone have any hints as to what the problem may be? Is it possible to try a different image type?

TKLBAM kills MySQL

Can't run TKLBAM on my LAMP 16.1 server...it kills MySQL (well MariaSQL). LAMP server with WordPress installed (backs up the WordPress MySQL fine...it fails on the MySQL db Backup)

I added a swapfile and ran top while TKLBAM was running. Plenty of CPU, plenty of disk, plenty of RAM free when it fails. Not a resource issue. It literally kills MySQL while it is taking a snapshot. Here is as far as it got:

Possible to have 100% open access via LAN i.e: permissionless ?

Forum:

Considering getting Turnkey Linux or another such OS/NAS, but hesitant because of needing more info – so I’m hoping someone will answer my query here, please.

Details 1st:
I have a small home office & have been using Ubuntu Mate 18.04 as a file sharing box for about a year - all my PCs use this same OS BTW (Thanks Jeremy Davis).

Drupal 8 Administration, Passwords, Updating, etc...

Forum:

Hello,

I just recently started a new job and just ran across a system running in our internal environment with Drupal 8.

I am able to login as an admin to the website to manage content and do limited updates?

Drupal core is 8.7.8

PHP 7.0.33

so about a year outdated.

Of course nobody has any passwords to get into Adminier nor SSH/SFTP.

TKLBAM is not initialized either.

What are my options besides setting up a new box from scratch and manually copying all the content for the entire organization.

adding/finding network drivers

Forum:

im currently tring to install mineos. i have managed to get a server working in the past but it was amd build and now im working with intel the network card is nc382i. i tried to find debian drivers, no luck. as of right now, the server gets to the network confi page and wont connect. i believe this to be a driver issue. i know last time a fresh install of debian worked. but it came with a bunch more stuff and configs that didnt work right. if possible i would just like to add the drivers into the current install.
