Thoughts on Phreesoft's Phreedom?

Forum:

I received a request to package Phreedom as a TurnKey appliance for the upcoming release, and was interested if anyone has evaluted or used phreedom?

Phreedom is the base platform for the PhreeSoft business tool kit. Its core modules track inventory, accounting, contracts, manage shipping and more. Phreedom is the customizable solution for business needs.

Anyone have feedback, thoughts?

Back to Ajaxplorer

Forum:

OK, I needed a web-based file sharing solution for in real life. I was looking for a dropbox solution, as discussed in other threads, but I found myself very happy with ajaxplorer. I've attached a patch, completed in collaboration with James Domchick and David Horn at Chelsea Schoool; the patch is intended for TKL LAMP.

Implications of MYSQL user in Webmin (password change)

Forum:

I was trying to harden my passwords just now and after resetting the Root password, I changed the MySQL password in Webmin.

Probably not what I wanted to do.

Now though, my original "root" user in MySQL has the same pword as ever.  The MYSQL was changed from something ... I don't know what.  Are there any scripts that also need to be changed for that user?

Only way to get this back is to restore a Snapshot..  I may do that.

thoughts on this one?

Thanks

Geronimo appliance ..?

Hi there ...

I hope everone is going well.  I had the idea that a Geronimo appliance would be a good thing to ask about.  As I'm a new bod here, I felt it might be a good way to throw the question out to the group.

Question: How would you like the Geronimo Appliance configured?

It is multi-select, so you can pick the configuration item you want.  (I don't know if others (or me either) can add options; but if you think of one, pass it on directly.)

Backup or snapshot

Forum:

Hi all,

I would like your oppinions/experiences

Which is better - a backup or a snapshot ?

(and on an amazon server - which is cheaper)

Traditionally I would go with a backup - but had a few problems, so I tried a snapshot.

Both allow you to start a new server with the data

The backup however is the only one that can be restored to the original server.

But then with a snapshot you can just destroy the original server and start a new one from the snapshot.

IP address or www name ?

Forum:

HI all

I have a functional lamp deployment running using amazon ec2/ebs and elastic IP

( I have a domain name and have redirected it to the amazon ip)

It all runs smoothly, except for a minor niggle

When I goto ww.my_domain.com/moodle it takes me to the right place, but shows the ip address in the navigation bar.

I would like it to show www.my_domai.com/moodle
