Percona, MariaDB and TokuDB appliance

Forum:

I was wondering if TKL team can or would consider providing a MySQL-based appliance based on Percona Server with XtraDB (http://www.percona.com/software/percona-server/)

XtraDB is an enhanced version of InnoDB and is part of Percona Server and MariaDB.

While we're at it, if this is not too much to ask, why not include MariaDB as well as TokuDB (although TokuDB is closed-source, it is free to use as long as you are within the 50GB database limit).

Just my two cents.

Thanks.

I've got a new appliance what should I do?

Forum:

I've installed ORYX an open source  BPMN design tool over the TK tomcat appliance, I've been searching form something like this for months, now i got it working.

This can be very useful to other people too so i want to share it, which is the best way to do it?

The work you all have done with this project is outstanding!  And as I continue to get more and more involved with using these appliances for projects and customers, the more I realize and appreciate the value and power of these quick turn-key deployments, not to mention the ability to start with a base appliance and tailor it for the specific task or customer at hand.

web2py

Forum:

I would just like to place a vote for adding web2py to the official appliance list.  I know you guys have a lot to do and I truely appreciate everything TKL has done.  Just adding my 2 cents.

Since both Rik Goldman and Marrissimo (creator of web2py) have both submitted patches I would think (or hope) that would increase the priority a bit.

I am willing to wait.  I currently use web2py but just manually installed on TKL-LAPP.  Which works well enough as is.

Redmine's Repository Creation could be bettered?

Forum:

Hi,

I tried to setup the Redmine Applicance and let me say that the LDAP Auth "just worked"

While trying to setup the Subversion repository though, it didn't work. I searched the forums but people had reported problems only as back as 2009 (Redmine + SVN).

Trac + LDAP

Hi,

I was wondering whether it would be possible to have the LDAP plugin for Trac in the Trac applicance by default?

If I try to "easy_install" the LDAP plugin it fails to install with the "zip_safe" error. (I can post details of the message from office later tomorrow)

Hey Folks!

Hardly tryin to get nfs4 and acl work... Does anyone has positive experience with it?

I have nothing special - nfs-common and nfs-kernel-server configured as described in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SettingUpNFSHowTo ..

I can't even look into the share due to id-mapping to nobody:nogroup...

USB Stick install

Hi, I just came across Turnkey and looks very interesting for what I wish to do. That is to create a light weight NAS for my new HP Microserver (N40L) I have tried FreeNAS and OpenMediaVault. FreeNAS is BSD based -- I prefer Linux as I am a NB and got a better chance to learn *ix with Linux than BSD. Boots from USB Flash Drive but runs in RAM. OpenMediaVault (OMV) is like FreeNAS but based on Debian. It is very good. Had it up and running in 10 minutes. The issue with is that when installed on a USB Flash drive, it is writing to the flash drive all the time.

Most secure way to SSO and Shop Cart

Just signed up for Turnkey and I want to have a Single Sign On database that talks to Digital Chalk for my courses. I installed Moodle but it is doubling the efforts of Digital Chalk I thought AWS had integrated Digital Chalk within it, and I still need SSO for Calendar, Video Chat and Account Info for the courses offered in Digital Chalk. I have to use Digital Chalks API to pass Course payment info into user accounts. I could just do away with SSO and use Digital Chalks database but I would still need a Cart and Frontend with SSL. Is there a Turnkey solution for the Cart at least.
