Would you like to be able to set time and/or keyboard on install/firstboot

Some have suggested that it would be good to be able to select/set keyboard and/or time on install/firstboot. I know that the devs are trying to keep it simple but perhaps it would be a good idea to include this?

So the question is, do you want keyboard and/or time selection to be included in appliances as a default firstboot script?

Hello,

Does anyone have an up-to-date ruby on rails TKL Amazon EC2 image with PostgreSQL instead of MySQL?

Discussion about "Powered by Turnkey Linux" led to thoughts of other defaults in ap setups.

Forum:

I like having the TKL Footer though I do sometimes consider it a secu. rsk.  What would seem ideal would be to have some controls inserted into various of the Clients admin pages to change the TKL Footer etc..  Probably is when I think of it, but still.

But here is my main thought.  I think it would be worth adding a few more security loops that help admins to control their key rings.  For instance, rather than just assigning passwords to specific user names, it would seem good to allow assigning/or reassigning user names themselves.

Site Search Engine

Forum:

I am looking for a search engine to install in my TurnKey System that will allow textual search of my complete html site.  Can anyone point me in the direction of something stable and reliable?  Hopefully it is something that is easily installed in TKL.

Clarification needed for TKLBAM-RESTORE --limits usage needed

Forum:

I need an example of how to "include" and how to "exclude" a Database from a TKLBAM-RESTORE cycle.

(what is the exclude command?)  I can't get "  --limit=-(mysql:database) " to take when trying to exclude.  (edit:  I originally wrote that I can, but I CAN'T)

The Documentation on Limits says:

--limits=LIMITS: Restore filesystem or database limitations

LIMITS := " LIMIT -1 .. LIMIT -N"
LIMIT := -?( /path/to/include/or/exclude | mysql:database[/table])

Firewall

Forum:

Hi all,

I was configuring a LAMP and MySQL server for a third party app db and noticed a firewall in webmin and also one in the hub. Are they one and the same? If I change one will it appear in the other? It does not seem to from my very brief play with it...

Cost

Forum:
I'm interested in switching from bitnami; if nothing more than the servers their system builds are full of errors. For example a wordpress install, I had to go into the server, change the host name from the first assigned IP to my static IP... Then while building the site; there were a ton of permission errors causing nothing but problems. I'm just really concerned about the price. Bitnami is free, and I remain inside the AWS Free Tier... so what will that mean for my price here? With the little usage I have, that's why I chose to leave my webhost to AWS.

Problem adding Desktop GUI to LAPP

Forum:
Tags:

Hello all,

I tried to install kubuntu last night - it eas successfully found and appeared to install.  However when the system re-booted, it came up with a Blue/Green GUI lapp login screen wanting a User Login and ID.  The only login and id that was set up was the one created (root) when the LAPP appliance was installed.

I found where/how to add another user using Webmin and did so. However I still could not get past the GUI login screen. I got an error kstartupconfig4 does not exist or failed. The error code is 3. Check your install

'Dropbox like' TKL server

Forum:

I have long wanted a 'Dropbox like' server for syncing files between computers, but instead of having a limited cloud storage outside of my control I want a FOSS client, with inhouse (FOSS) server that I control!
