Today I started useing: turnkey-fileserver-11.3-lucid-x86-vmdk
I was wondering if it is possible to get some kind of upload script for users how upload files to the ftp and log out, And then have the files moved to a different location.
I'm intending to uses this for my customers who only get acces to there own folder and when they log out move to a differnt location so my outher server can prossece these files.
I just wanted to share some experiences with a web/email server I am running through the hub.
I really hope this saves some people some heartache as I have spent all evening figuring a few things out.
Firstly the purpose - I have a client with a 6000+ strong mailing list and sends emails out twice a week every third week ie Mon and Thur on the third week. This correlates with an upcomming auction they hold at the given timeframe (they are an auction house).
I know several folks use proxmox, is anyone in using OpenStack yet?
I am looking for a solution that allows me to utilize 4x 1u dual quad core as an internal lab for development work. I currently have 2 quad cores running headless virtualbox and they both run like a champ however getting a new instance up does take a bit of time.
I have looked at all sort of solutions of the last few weeks and have come to Proxmox or OpenStack. I have looked at CloudStack but I have yet to talk to anyone who has a working install.
I'm really new to all this ruby, gem, redmine, turnkey stuff. The problem is quite simple : I can't install any gems.
Environment : The Turnkey VM is run with virtualbox on a CentOS distro. The host machine is connected to the web through a proxy. I suspect the proxy to block the requests but I don't know how to check it. Wget requests works fine, the apt-get too but only through our cache server.
Is there an easy way to spin an OpenStack TKL image with RackSpace Cloud? I can't seem to find any information on this. Is anyone using TKL with RackSpace Cloud servers? How are you launching each server?
first, I'm very new to this forum and I have tried to search but nothing seemed to fit. I've been out of the linux world for a while (I have been running a debian file server from home for ages, but have not done much to in latley)
I've bee charged with buidling a new server box for my inlaws R/C Car club. thye use it to host the results of the races on at the local track. I'm fine with getting all the basic going, thank to an easy LAMP installation + samba and getting the hosting to work. so bar it's been brilliant.
I've run into an issue with images displaying in posts on my TKWordpress install. I created a test post on a fresh install and included a small image. I then accessed the page from outside my local network and the images do not show, only a place holder. When I view the post inside my network LAN, the images show as they should.
Any ideas? The fresh install displays great and loads fast, even the images from the default install. Only when I create a post with a photo do I have this problem.
ownCloud (or owncloud.com) is something of a 'Dropbox' type file server (but without an autosync client - ie the web interface part of Dropbox). The big difference is that it is open source and allows you to run the server yourself. It also includes other cool features such as a browser based text editor and a photo gallery. Since v3.0 it also includes facility for additional (html/php/javascript) apps to be included.
