[Proposed] TKLPatch - (Unofficial) Minecraft server

Forum:

Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens...

TKLPatch - Concrete5 v0.5

Forum:

[update 2012-01-18] Major work on the patch as testing revealed that it was quite broken... (I was going to update it to v5.5.0 but decided to fix it first). Should now work with the latest v5.4.x branch. Next stop v5.5... Major update of firstboot scripts and lots of tidying up, now asks for Admin email on firstboot. I have attached the latest patch here. I would still like to apply a few tweaks to the install but will have to ponder that further... (I have also tidied up this post).

Home NAS

Forum:

I would like to use turnkey linux to create a home/small business NAS.  I will need file sharing, bittorrent, mediasharing, and other functions for which you have appliances already, but I would also require a gpodder server client.  I would love to get a system working that would alow a web interface for gpodder functions.  I know gpodder has the gpodder.net service, but we don't have are computers on most of the time and would like to have all our subscribed podcasts downloaded onto a NAS.

TKLBAM - synch concern

Forum:

A day ago I moved one of my TK Machines back one day via "Snapshot" in VMWARE Esxi.  Between the snapshot and the restore there was one TKLBAM Backup which is in my thread.

I would like to be able to delete the "one" backup without deleteing the full Backup set.  It seems I can only delete the whole backup set.

Also, I have read reference to this before but do not find it now.  If I need to reinitialize TKLBAM on a TK Machine what is the process.

Final point:  Would love to be able to annotate individual backups in Hub...

thanks in advance,

File Compression for Linux

Forum:

Has anyone found a good solution for file compression for Linux at the filesystem level?  In other words similar to the drive/folder compression of NTFS.

I have one TKL-FileServer which contains mostly text files (or other files which compress very well) and they don't get changed very often.

It would be nice to be able to compress this to save some disk space.

Any ideas?

-Todd

Pay pal question

Forum:

Hallo,
I have installed the CMS presta shop to manage the ecommerce of site and it seems to work quite well but not paypal payment.
The problem is that the seller receives the mail that the payment has been done but there isn't the description of the product, so that he can not understand which product has been sold.
The buyer receive the invoice with the description of the products, that could be useful for the seller too, but I have not found the option to enable it.
I have asked to paypal but they say to ask to Prestashop but nobody answers.

Why isn't /var/log included in TKLBAM profiles?

Forum:

I know I could just add /var/log to the TKLBAM config but I'm just wondering what the rationale is for not including it by default.  I guess my perspective is the log history is an important part of the server being backed up.

Thanks,
Jeremiah

Why is S3 backing better than EBS?

Forum:

The following facts lead me to believe that many users run S3 backed instances and even prefer them over EBS backed instances.
