I tried twice and though Amazon/Turnkey thought that everything moved fine and my primary root password moved, I am unable to access the phpmyadmin or mysql.  It seems the mysql Password is not transfering over the way it should in a normal migration.

The Error is PHPMYADMIN was saying:

Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed.

I want cron to send me an email every day by SMTP, so I tried to use the "mail -s" command (postfix is installed and working, as this is the TKL bugzilla appliance). But the command is not found. What is the "TKL way" to send a email from the command line (bash script)?

And, is there a way to tell cron that errors shall not go to /var/mail/root but actually are forwarded to an external address using SMTP?

apt-get install uucp hangs after displaying "Setting up ssl-cert (1.0.23ubuntu2) ..." on the latest version of Core (downloaded yesterday).

I'm sure there's a simple fix, but my head stilll has trouble wrapping itself around SSL certs. :(

Hey all.  Just downloaded and installed OTRS as a virtual appliance (vCenter/ESXi 4).  So far, so good.  I like the fact that it's Ubuntu recent.  I just wish there was more documentation as to what needs to be done to get OTRS (Request Tracker) up and running.  Running an nmap on localhost shows 22 is the only open port which would explain why webmin isn't answering to queries from port 10000.  Does anyone have a HOWTO specifically relevant to this virtual appliance they could share?

We are having a problem with our TKL LAMP VM, the issue is that any SFTP transfers start out extremely slow, often timing out, but then after 4-8MB have been transferred it will rocket up to normal (for the connection) speed.

For example, I upload a 100MB file, for the first 2-5 mintues I'm only getting 5KB/s, then all the sudden after around 5MB have been transferred it goes up to 200KB/s for the remaining 95MB.  

The behavior is the same for downloads. 

I'm sure I'm missing something simple. For a particular project, say ccmr, I choose Mercurial as the SCM with path /srv/repos/hg/ccmr, Save, and absolutely nothing happens. It doesn't even create the folder. For another project, mdo, I created the folder and it looks just like the helloworld Hg folder, but again nada. When I copied the py file in helloworld to the mdo folder, it didn't show up. Basically, I can't get off the ground with Hg.

I am having issues after TKLBAM backup and restore once I started doing some testing. 

1) I did a TKLBAM backup on a physical machine successfully.   However afterwords I started getting errors like :

/etc/resolvconf/update.d/libc: Warning: /etc/resolv.conf is not a symbolic link to /var/run/resolvconf/resolv.conf

Could not start apache while receiving errors like:

apache2: apr_sockaddr_info_get() failed for lamp

I switched from static to dynamic ip addressing a couple of times and it resolved itself.

This is more of an FYI for the developers than a request for help, I think ;)

I've got the PostgreSQL appliance installed and working in VirtualBox on my laptop running Ubuntu 11.10... I noticed that when I connect to it via phpPgAdmin it says the server version is 8.4.9... but if you click on any of the (extremely) tiny '?' links for help on a particular item, it opens the manual @ PostgreSQL.org... for version 8.3.  Not sure if this is a TKL developer concern, or a phpPgAdmin developer concern, but just thought I'd mention it so hopefully someone can file it or fix it...

After first installation a couple of days ago, I could connect to my hub tklapp.com domain redmine appliance (otagongs.tklapp.com) with no problem by using the hostname (browser, ssh). However, since then, if I stop/start the appliance, or reboot after updating, the hostname does not resolve, and I can only connect with the IP address - browser coughs up the following:
