Hi all. I am a newbie with linux (let me just say, without TKL I probably would have ended up going with Windows, gulp)... I only opened up my first console a few months ago, so although I've learned lots, my understanding of linux is only fledgling. I've developed a PHP application for a product we are rolling out, and some clarification on the following could REALLY help me sleep better at night :o)
I can replicate allot of stuff in the hub with AWS' API but where will I go if I need info for backups?
I know they are buckets but they are somehow tied to TKL's account in AWS.
Hints?
PS the reason I need to do this is to streamline my business and associated support. The current wen interface would fail for me if scaled to 100's of servers
I have just started to realize the devistating effect that TKLBAM can have on the performance of a Micro instance. It seems that, realistically, anyone wanting to have both uniform website performance and an hourly backup of their server must either move to a Small instance or use some sort of CPU limiter to reduce or eliminate the CPU spiking responsible for AWS CPU throttling.
We are eager to shift our full focus to the upcoming TKL 13 release, but before we do that a maintenance release for TKL 12 is in order, aka. TKL 12.1.
The plan is to upgrade the base system, several core components, and fix reported bugs/issues. It is to be released in both 32bit and 64bit, supporting all build types - VMDK, OVF, OpenStack, OpenVZ, Xen and ofcourse Amazon EC2 S3-backed and EBS-backed in all regions (including Sydney), with support for larger instance sizes via 64bit.
