cdn.debian.net is deprecated

Forum:

I just discovered that Debian's cdn.debian.net has been deprecated (see https://wiki.debian.org/DebianGeoMirror).  Because TurnKey appliances use this address to determine the nearest mirror server, this means that apt-get update is broken until you change the source lists. According to the wiki, all references to this address should be replaced by 'http.debian.net'.  I used the following sed command to make sure I caught all occurrances.

Htdocs mapped from Windows to Linux, Dev with Compass

Forum:

Hey,

I got a little problem and maybe there is someone out there who can help.

Version: Turnkey LAMP Stack with Debian Linux 7

I have my web projects stored on my Windows Computer in htdocs directory. The Windows computer is the host for my Turnkey-VM. The reasons for this configuration are: simple backup, quick edit of files on my main OS Windows, development with my Windows tools eclipse/notepad++.

This dir is shared. I mounted this share in my Turnkey-Linux-VM with the fstab entry

Printer installation

Forum:

Since I am new with TK and headless installations (no GUI) I am stuck in installing printers, which was otherwise done using the CUPS web interface under localhost:631.

Trying to install EPSON TM-T88IV receipt printer, and DYMO Labelwriter 450 (which also with GUI is not easy) I could not find a solution, specially for all those fine tuning of the printer settings like media source and size and and...

I decided to install xorg and xfce, which fortunately doesnt start after boot up, and can run it by startx if needed, and use the browser for CUPS settings.

TKLBAM --address... error

Forum:

I am attempting to use the tklbam-backup command with the --address switch as follows:

>tklbam-backup --address file:///<localdir-path>

Which ever way I try to use this the initial creation of the backup runs as normal but the duplicity phase fails with the following error:

nginx-php-fastcgi not displaying PHP syntax errors

Forum:

I have launched an Amazon EC2 instance using http://www.turnkeylinux.org/nginx-php-fastcgi which worked great.

However my server is not displaying PHP syntax errors which makes it very tedious to troubleshoot. The only thing I get when my syntax is wrong is a blank page.

No matter what changes I make to the /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini file they don’t seem to have any effect...

This is probably stupid simple, but I just can’t figure it out and its driving me crazy... Any ideas?

How to attach old unattached TKL instance to new account?

Forum:

I've started at a company using a Turnkey Linux Redmine appliance (TurnKey Linux 11.1 / Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid LTS). I've been charged with updating the server.

The server has never been attached to an official Turnkey account. We have an TurnKey account now and would like to attach the server. Next goal is to restore a backup to a newer Turnkey Redmine appliance.

Is there a way to attach an old, existing instance to an account? I'd like to enable all the tlkbam goodies to S3 as well.

Thanks!

Update for Bugzilla 4.4 to 4.4.1

Forum:

Installed turnkey-bugzilla-13.0-wheezy-i386, works great.  Set up bugzilla for email, users, products, components all is great.  But as Admin I opened whining and got:

Can't locate object method "now" via package "DateTime" at /var/www/bugzilla/editwhines.cgi line 386.

Searched the web and found:

is it possible to run Debian Etch as a virtual machine within a Turnkey system?

Forum:

Hello

Our primary business software must use old glib libraries .  So it needs Debian Etch or it's Red hat equlivent.

We have 4 backup systems - 2 on site and 2 off site.

The backup systems are proxmox systems using KVM's running  debian wheezy.   Within the kvm we  use  openvz  to run debian etch... they work fine.

Next we want  to have a backup system using Turnkey on Amazon E2 .

My question:

what if any are some of the ways to run Debian Etch within a Turnkey system hosted at Amazon E2 ?

Repositories in TKLDev

Forum:

This is probably something really basic that I just can't seem to find... wish it was easier for me to find documentation on specific parts of TKLDev.

I'm trying to start a new project that requires software loaded from a nonstandard repository.  I added the repository to TKLDev, but when I make the project, it can't find the packages.  I looked at the repository update it runs, and it indeed is not loading the new repository.  I'm doing something very basic here.  I have TKL core and really haven't done anything yet other than modify plan/main.

LAMP hangs at 'Loading Initial Ramdisk ...' in Win8.1 x64

Forum:

I downloaded a clean copy of VirtualBox and the newest LAMP VM.  Everything installed correctly and nicely as far as I can tell.  I can import the OVF just fine.  When I run it, it gets to the loading screen, and says 'Loading initial ramdisk ...' and hangs there forever.

My computer is running Windows 8.1 on x64 ... is there anything I can do to get this to work on my computer?  Am I missing something stupid?
