Big backup in S3 backed root

Forum:

The backup is made in the root not mnt drive and it only just fits

- How do I redirect backup away from the 9Gb root drive

- If I use a symbolic link, does (ephemeral) /mnt survive a restart or reboot? or will I have to attach an EBS and fstab it? Would either of these restore?

- Will I need to reconfigure Duplicity /tmp as in Restoring from a large (7GB+) backup fails

Thanks

Git push on Trac Appliance

Forum:

Ok, so this is probably a really n00b question...

I've used the hub to create a Trac appliance on Amazon, which is excellent!

I've removed the example repos and used initproject to create a new git repo. I can connect to it over SSH beautifully.

The instructions state that you can just push to the new repo, but of course you can't, it fails because it's non-bare.

My question is this, can I make the repo bare without ruining all the trac tie-ins?

LAMP - MYSQL - Dreamweaver - mysql database 'manager' blocked'

Forum:
Tags:

I am running a LAMP server..  It runs fine, including PHP connecting to my database.  i wrote some 'custom' code and the php code can connect to the database fine and display the data.

However, I am trying to bring over a dreamweaver site and run that on the server.  Dreamweavers GUI cant find the mysql server.  It returns a error that it would normally returns if PHP was not enabled.  I triple checked all the mysql settings.

LAMP mail config

Forum:

Hi,

I'm using the LAMP server (ubuntu 10.04) within VMware Fussion on my macbook for php dev, however I can not get it to send mail via the php mail() function.

I've no idea where to start to sort this out. I have checked the system logs and it says 'status=bounced' and '-Verification failed for <www-data@localdomain>'

I only want to be able to send email from my apps to myself for testing purposes.

Any ideas as to how I can set this up.

Cheers

David

File Manager extracting files as root when a normal user

Forum:

I just recently installed the LAMP version of Turnkey.  The issue I'm having is whenever a normal user logs into the file manager via Webmin and extracts a compressed file, the output is always owned by root.  I have Browse files as Unix user set in the backend but it doesn't seem to affect this issue.

Any ideas on what I can do this fix this?

Thanks
