I have an OpenFiler NAS box which I'm getting rid of and will replace with a TKL fileserver appliance.
The Openfiler box has 2 x 1.5 TB drives making up one drive using LVM where my TV shows sit.
Was wondering - what's the likelihood of plugging these straight in to the new TKL box and having them recognised?
The two physical disks make up a volume group with a single XFS volume on top which takes up the entire LVM disk space. The volume then has a few SMB shares in it.
First of all i don't know if this is a support question, so i place it in general section. (I guess i'm just missing something because i have near to no experience with this)
My problem is that i created a virtual machine with the Tomcar on Apache Appliance. It installed just fione too, had no problems with it. Now i just cant figure out how to access any of the virtual web servers of the apache web server.
Just a little reminder to help others out. When downloading ISO images (or other files too), if a MD5SUM is given by the provider make note of it and test your download.
I used to do this all the time 5 or 6 years ago. I never had a bad dload. So, over time I stopped checking the MD5SUM value.
This past week I lost at least 4 hours of my time due to a corrupted download. If I would have taken the extra 2 minutes to check the MD5, I could have saved that time (not mention the multiple CD disks burned).
I'm running several TKL VMs inside my LAN and would like to expose several of them to the internet using DNS. So, I need a DNS Server to help me with that.
Does anyone know of a DNS VM? (I prefer VMs for soooooo many reasons.)
