v17.1 Stable Release #2 - 24 more ISOs, Hub builds and Proxmox/LXC
After a bit of a delay - due to other competing priorities; such as our webserver dying - the v17.x release continues. As per previous updates all these appliances are being built as v17.1.
Whilst this is the 2nd installment of stable v17.1 appliances, it is also the 5th release blog post for 17.x appliance updates (see the first 4 announcements here if you wish).
This release consists of 24 tested and updated appliances. Building on the previous v17.x releases, this release contains not only ISOs and Hub builds, but also Proxmox/LXC builds. It's still unclear when we might have other builds available.
As per usual, these updated appliances can all be found on our mirror network, downloaded from their relevant pages (links below) or they can be launched directly from the Hub (look for the 17.x text link - in the top right corner).
New Appliance - ProcessWire
This time around, we have a brand new shiny appliance to add to the library. Thanks to community member @daymickcorr:
- ProcessWire - ProcessWire is a free content management system (CMS) and framework (CMF) built to save you time and work the way you do. With all custom fields, a secure foundation, proven scalability and performance, ProcessWire connects all of your content seamlessly, making your job fast, easy and fun. Extendable with custom developed plugins, or search the available third party ProcessWire modules.
Additionally, the appliance previously named Concrete5 has been renamed to "Concrete CMS" during the v.17.x update (following upstream's lead).
Updates for v17.x
Turnkey Linux has 24 updated and refreshed appliances to give back to the community:
All v17.x apps to date
As per existing convention, here are all the appliances (in alphabetical order) that have been released for v17.0 so far:
Reminder that there is no v17.x Drupal 8 appliance. That is because Drupal 8 reached EOL (end of life) November last year. Drupal 7 was originally intended to also reach EOL then too, but was extended until November 2022. It has since been extended again, with the new EOL date: Nov 1st, 2023.
That's good news for existing Drupal 7 users, but we do not recommend that anyone starts a new project on Drupal 7. New Drupal project should use Drupal 9 (or the newer Drupal 10 - which we will hopefully provide an appliance for soon).
