v17.1 Stable Release #5 - 17 More Updated & Buggfixed ISOs, Promxox & Hub Builds

We have the 5th release for 17.1 (see previous v17.x announcements here if you wish). We're fairly close to finishing the initial v17.x release, with only 4 appliances remaining - so one more small batch!

Those with sharp eyes might notice that there are a few more than that not yet updated. Most of them are due to limitations in upstream software (e.g. a number of old Python applications still haven't yet been updated to Python3). These may or may not be reintroduced in the future, depending on a range of factors. If an appliance you are looking for is missing, please be sure to ask.

This release consists of 17 freshly updated and tested v17.x appliances, 7 appliances with their first v17.x release and 10 with bugfixed v17.x releases. As per the previous announcements, this release is only ISOs, Hub builds, as well as Proxmox LXC. It's still unclear when we might have other builds available.

As per usual, these updated appliances can all be found on our mirror network, downloaded from their relevant pages (links below) or they can be launched directly from the Hub (note that 17.x appliances are now the default).

Bugfixed apps

With this release, Turnkey associates have also been working on bugfixes for previously released v17.x appliances. These updates close issues raised via Hub support, forums, upstream developers and our best Turnkey associates. Thanks to all our users for reporting bugs and assisting us to resolve them. The bugfixed updates improve the end user experience, with a number providing improved IPv6 support and a few (PHP based apps) including PHP 8.1 - to faciliate recent or nearly ready updates. E.g. the current version of Bookstack still only requires PHP 7.4, but the next major release (coming soon) - will require PHP 8.1 - so shipping with PHP 8.1 means future updates should be smooth. Thanks to Dan Brown (Bookstack dev) for making the effort to reach out ot us to give us the heads up.

Another bugfixed appliance is Observium. Please see videos below showing Observium set up in action. Please note that the bugfixes referred to in the video are included in the latest Observium appliance bugfix release (see changes for details).

Any chance you would consider building a TVHeadend appliance? or perhaps add TVHeadend to the MediaServer appliance. Regards Patrick
